The French Riviera was appreciated by numerous artists and painters in the past, who spent part of their lifes here and left precious works of art, some of them inconspicuously incorporated in the local patrimony, such as the mural mosaics by Marc Chagall at the University of Nice, the Matisse Chapel in Vence, the Piece and War Chapel by Picasso in Biot, the Madura workshop of Picasso in Biot and others. The houses in which they lived and worked are now museums, such as the house of Renoir in Cagnes sur Mer, the Grimaldi Palace in Antibes which houses the Picasso museum, the Jean Cocteau Museum in Menton and the Cocteau Chapel in Villefranch or the Fondation Maeght with its precious collection of works by Miro, Giacometti and others.

The following tour itineraries are available:

  • Museums Chagall & Matisse, Nice + Fondation Maeght
  • Museums Leger, Biot & Picasso, Antibes & Fondation Maeght, St. Paul
